Expanded PTFE Gaskets
This type of gaskets are made of expanded PTFE gasket material, designed for use in process piping and equipment in chemical, pulp and paper, food and beverage, and other general industrial applications where resistance to highly aggressive chemicals is required. The EPTFE gasket can handle temperature of about 240°C.
Expanded PTFE gaskets are ideal for use in steel flanges and flanges with irregular surfaces. The expanded PTFE gaskets conform to the FDA requirements.
The expanded PTFE gaskets has the same chemical resistance as the normal PTFE gaskets, but has better flexibility and elasticity. The expanded PTFE gaskets we cut is made only from pure PTFE resins. It is suitable for use in steel flanges as well as flanges where a highly compressible gasket is required. EPTFE gasket is also suitable for sealing flanges with irregular surfaces.
Expanded PTFE sheet material and the gaskets made of it will not exhibit the cold flow problems associated with virgin PTFE or the hardness problems of some other filled PTFE products. The gaskets from expanded PTFE have excellent sealability, cuts easily, and separate cleanly from flanges after use.

Expanded PTFE, Unfilled Teflon® Gaskets (Virgin Teflon® Gaskets)
Expanded PTFE (Teflon®) gasket material is produced by expanding Virgin PTFE using a process that creates a uniform and highly fibrillated microstructure with equal tensile strength in all directions.
This means that expanded Teflon® possesses no structural weakness or a "grain". Since no additives are required, expanded Teflon® also possesses the unique chemical resistance of Virgin Teflon®. Expanded PTFE is much softer and more flexible than regular PTFE gaskets and thus conforms easily to irregular and rough surfaces. The material is easier to compress and minimizes creep and cold flow.
Expanded PTFE gaskets are made of synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene consisting completely of carbon and fluorine. It is innately hydrophobic (repelling water and water-containing substances) and has one of the lowest coefficients of friction against any solid.
Expanded PTFE has excellent dielectric properties and provides excellent thermal insulation with an operating temperature range of -200°C to 260°C. PTFE is the most chemically resistant plastic known and is unaffected by most corrosive liquids, vapors, and gases
Expanded PTFE gasket provides outstanding chemical resistance for duties where hygiene and non-contamination are essential.
The Expanded PTFE gaskets offer many unique features:
Outstanding chemical resistance.
Non-corrosive, non-wetting, non-contaminating and odorless.
Can work efficiently at temperatures from cryogenic up to +260°C.
Excellent electrical and thermal insulation in virgin PTFE form.
Very soft material
