Graphite Gland Packings
Graphite packings are self-lubricating, dimensionally stable, impervious to gases and fluids, and corrosion-resistant. Graphite packings offer excellent sealing capabilities under extreme conditions for longer equipment life and less maintenance.
Graphite gland packings are best suited for dynamic sealing of centrifugal pumps for water, petroleum derivatives, and other chemicals, particularly under conditions of high speed and high pressures.
Operating parameters: Tmax 450°C / pH 0 – 14 / VL 40 m/s
Graphite packings are used as well for high pressure and temperature seals.
The graphite which is the base for the graphite packings has very low coefficient of friction, high thermal conductivity & sliding velocity, exhibits excellent resistance to chemicals and remains soft and pliant even in high temperature and pressure conditions.
