Made from a blend of styrene and butadiene polymers, styrene butadiene (SBR) rubber exhibits similar properties to natural rubber.

SBR rubber sheeting is often used in place of natural rubber for many applications due to the significant cost savings. Compared to natural rubber, SBR rubber sheet provides enhanced resistance to abrasion, wear and water. It’s a non-oil resistant material that’s widely-used in the production of several rubber products.

Styrene Butadiene (SBR) rubber is a good selection when it comes to rubber gaskets and seals. Due to the good heat resistance and heat-aging qualities of SBR, it performs well in extreme temperatures. It is not recommended for use in applications involving exposure to ozone, strong acids, oils, greases, fats and most hydrocarbons.

Styrene Butadiene (SBR) rubber can be compounded to further enhance its fine abrasion, wear and tensile qualities. Its mechanical properties, similarity to natural rubber and flexibility make styrene butadiene (SBR) rubber popular in industries such as HVAC and construction.

Uses of styrene butadiene (SBR) rubber include gaskets, grommets, lining rubber, conveyor belt covers and many other extremely demanding applications.

Since the material exhibits excellent resistance to brake fluids as well as good moisture resistance, synthetic rubber components are commonly used in hydraulic brake system seals and diaphragms.

SBR rubber is also widely used in mechanical rubber parts, panel grommets and body pads. Synthetic rubber (SBR) has properties similar to natural rubber, but with greater resistance to abrasion, wear and water. Additional advantages over natural rubber include:
